it almost worked

I am still sulking about how my plan to blame grouchy pants for digging a hole did not work.  So I tried to set him up by tempting him with an empty bag of doggie food.  I made a bunch of rustiling sounds and sed nom nom nom nom.  I lukked at him with nom nom eyes.

I pretended like I wuz hasing a big ole meal to myself.  

it worked!  grouchy pants sicked his whole head in and I said HAHA, I got you!  you are going to be in so much trubble now...

but mudder wuz no where to be seen.  and later when she saw that I had dragged the empty bag out, she sed "bad boy Percy".  "I think we shud go inside and you shud take a liddle nap".

wow!  I like this kind of trubble....a liddle nap on mudders lap.  she sure ruvs me so much. I will get you grouchy pants Asa, just whin you don't expect it....

i blamed grouchy pants

today I digged a liddle hole in the back yard.  jest a liddle one and I tink I digged it becuz I ate a blade of grass thin went all crazy.  Mudder and grouchy pants Asa came outside to see whut all the rukuc wuzzed about.  I runned away frum the scene and whin Asa followed his nose to my crime, I blamed him!  I told mudder "ohhh mudder, lookit whut bad boy has digged".

it did not work, Mudder is not a fool.  she told me to go inside so she cud bury the hole.  and grouchy pants whispered in my ear that I wuzzed a big brat.  

and he chased me back in to the house...

AND next he helped himself to injoy the sun on my outdoor cushions!  hmmmmpf

I will git him in some sort of trubble sum day...

sleepy tired

the past 2 days has been so busy that today I spent a lot of time jest resting and dreaming of our fun.

I sleep in all kinds of different positions,

I change it around from upside right to upside down.

I tink I like the white bottom side bedder.  whut a great way to finish my long weekend.

anudder winning day

This morning me and Mudder drived back togedder to the doggie show.  it wuz in a different bilding than yesterday, and there were all kinds of different doggies performing.  My furst ring wuz Novice Obedience and I did it all with a score of 190 out of 200 and I got anudder leg toward my BN title!
I worked so hard and mudder wuz so proud that we taked a long long walk around the fairgrounds before we went back in for the Rally ring.  my whistle told us we were here...

we walked down to a river called the south platte and had a look around.

lookit how happy I am that I am doing so good and hasing so much fun!  thin mudder sed "come on Percy, it is almost time for Rally and we has to go git some wadder before we go back in!

guess whut??  I finished my Rally novice title!  with 3 straight legs!  and I scored a 95/100 points!!

I tink I look so smarty!  and I gitted more ribbons, AND 2nd place!!  in front of golden retrievers and border collies!  mudder wuzzed so proud!  And I am now a RN Basset Hound.  my furst Akc tiltle for an award next year.  I has 10 titles now!  

Winning is so fun!!

Well, I did it all.  And I did it all very very GOOD!  Me and Mudder winned everything today at the doggie show!!!!  We gitted all these ribbons today.

and we winned sum cool trophies too!

 Today wuzzed so much fun-I decided I ruv to win!  In my furst ring I earned my second rally novice leg on my second time ever with a score of 95 out of 100.  my judge wuz so nice.

Then I had to wait a long time to go in to the conformation ring, so I taked a liddle nap.

 My furst conformation ring I winned sumpting callt reserve winners dog, and a rilly comfy new pillow!  I had to wear this ting in between rings.

In my obedience ring I earned my furst Begginer Novice leg with a score of 191/200!!  I had to do a lot of staying away frum mudder.  it gived me a lot of stress, but I did it for her.  here is our pitcher.

in our second conformation ring I winned a couple tings that are very speshil!  they are--furst place in my class, Winners Dog, and Best of Winners!!!!!  mudder wuzzed so cited!  she sed I earned a 3 point major for my furst points ever towards my championship!!!  I wunt to be a champion!!  Here is our non official best of winners  photo.

after out show we had a big party with our basset hound friends and mudder was awarded with 4 more AKC title plaques for our Tile!  mudder sez "Gud boy buddy!"

It sure wuzzed a long but great day at the show!  When we gotted home I taked a long nap on my new pillow I winned today.  Mudder sez it its perfect, becuz I'm a Basset Hound king.

goodnight--tomorrow I get to go back to anudder show, but this time it is with all kinds of different doggies.  and only for rally and obedience.  Friday the 13th wuzzed sure my lucky day.

pre show bath

I has to have a bath today.  Mudder sez it is becuz there is a my great big doggie show coming up tomorrow.  I'm so cited!  I canz not evin imagine whut it will be like.  Mudder sez I am going to be so great!  The show is all Basset HOunds like me.  Mudder has me intered in everythiig that is offered-Rally, obedience and conformation.  I will do my very best to make her proud.  I not knowing whut to expect for conformation and obedience since I has never done them at a show before.

I still hate baths...

I had so much fun this morning at agility class!  it might be my second favorite thing to do with mudder...right behind hunting!  giddyup!

I has never had to wear a snood to keep my ears clean before so mudder sed we bedder start gitting used to wearing one  Asa wunted to join in, so mudder dressed him in his bling bling snood and he ruvved it!  I laughed at him.

thin it wuzzed my turn too, so mudder picked a great color for me!  but mine did not have bling and sparkles on it and I wuzzed jelous.  Asa lukked bedder than me for sure.,

So mudder sed, come here jelous boy, you can try out Asas bling bling snood, but you canz not have it.  so we traded snoods and places!

i tried to luk as sophisticated as grounchy pants Asa, but it jest dent work out that way..

and I has to admit--grouchy pants Asa truly luks so dapper!!!!

Kitty cat gits away with making so much trubble.  today she hauled out all kinds of Mudders tings frum under her bed.  I heard Mudder go in her room and say "whut in the world has you done, Bronwyn?"  I tink it is time for some obedience training for her.  or maybe a paddling...

April time in Colorado is always so windy.  My lips and ears are flapping.  Mudder sez "it is a gud ting you are so low to the ground and heavy Percy."  "otherwise you might blow away today!"

Me and grouchy pants Asa and Mudder were enjoying a nice springtime day on the porch when suddenly this happened...  Bronwyn helped herself to our doggie door!!!

she is not supposed to come outside, but she did inyway!

she is NOT a doggie to go thru the door...as soon as I saw this, I chased her right back inside.  Mudder sed "gud boy Percy, kitty cat is not supposed to be outside".  "Now go back to sunning yourself now".  So I did.  Whut wud life be like around here without me helping everybuddy out?

I love saving the day.

a puzzle

I worked hard figuring out how to git this big stick through my doggie door so I cud chew it indoors.  It wuz worth the work, and rilly worth the look on mudders face when she realized that I worked out the puzzle and made it in!

my day at the spa

Mudder is gitting me ready for a special doggie show coming up next week, so today I went to my spa and had all kinds of things done while I taked a nice long nap.  During my comfy slumber I had my teeth cleaned, a pedicure, and I also gotted checked for heart worm.  this is a before and after of my chompers.  and also my sweet face when mudder dropped me off.

I wuzzed still so tired when I gotted back home that I had a liddle dinner and thin mudder tucked me in for a nap.

 I hope the judges appreciate all of my treatments I has today.  nite nite

whut do you tink that eyeball belongs to that is watching me?  I dent evin know I wuzzed being looked at.  I wonder whut it wunted?  It dent utter a peep.

spring time day

today wuzzed such a nice weather day.  me and mudder taked a walk down a sidewalk path and across a bridge over a river.

there is still a bit of snow frum winter time.  I wuzzed glad it wuzzed there becuz I was thirtsy.  I ate some.

   Do you read what that sign behind me says?  it tells hoomans to not enter when flooded.
I think I shud ask the giant tree of life why a sign like that evin has to be posted.  don't hoomans know you shud not go in to a flood?

Easter

mudder asked me if I wud rather go on an Easter egg hunt....or an Easter Bunny hunt.  I think you know which one I choosed!

Since Max has been gone Grouchy Pants Asa has become nicer.  Today he told me in secret that he really ruvs me and that he is happy to be my friend.He whispered it to me in my ear.

The tree of life

today on our walk me and mudder found the biggest tree I has ever seen.  she sed maybe it wuz the tree of life and that she should take my pitcher sitting under it.  look how small I look!

I contemplated some life things while I did my sit stay.  I asked the tree whut exactly IS the meaning of life.  but that big ole thing did not even answer.  it just sat there being a tree.  So I peepeed on it.

I finally learnt who made that big pile of scat in my frunt yard---jest lookit what I saw out of the window tonight!  I wunted to go out and bark at them and tell them to pick up after themselves.

but mudder sed if I approached them, they might kick me..  So I dent approach.

weaving day

I got to play with the weave poles at agility this morning.  I think I'm preddy grate at weaving.

then lookit whut we saw when we came out of the barn!  across the street were sum deer.

beauty class

Tonight we went to conformation class to get ready for sumpting callt a specialty.  it wuz so boring.  all it is about is standing and trotting.  I watched sum of the other doggies and they seemed to be having fun.  but I tink it is yawn fest.  

so I layed down and pretended to be a harbor seal.

that was the funnest thing about the whole class!  its not like agility or hunting.  its a lot of waiting for your turn.  and then you have to stay on your leash and hold real still.  that's hard for me, Percy..
