I made a new frind today.  we finded him on our walk so we vited him home with us.  I ruv him.
he duznt say much so I tried to say hi, I'm Percy, whuts your name?  he jest standed there....

so I hidded my face cuzzed his jest standing there is makink me worry

thin I has to laugh cuzzed he iz still jest standing there!!    he is a funny odd frind.

I cided if I cant beat him I will join him.  arrrroooooo!!!!!!!

a lesson for you

do you ever see trax in the snow and wonder whut has made them?  well, I em going to give you a liddle learning for 2 diffrunt trax.  this first one is a hippity!!!  I know dat becuz I canz smell it!!!!

Downtown Doggy

I live in a cool town called Castle rock.  this is me at downtown.  Howliday lites are still shining and I posed for sum handsum pitchers of me with the lights. 

only 349 more shopping days til next Christmas!  at least I tink so....

when my mommy and I go to the park she always sits in the same round green area in the grass.  everyday I can smell where she sitted the yesterday and I run as fast as I can go to that spot and thin I turn around and wait for mommy to yell good boy Percy!  thin I roll in the spot and roll and roll and roll, till my mommy gits to the spot and we sit togedder and play at the spot!

well, I spose I cud pick up my paw when I peepee, but I dent this time and mommy sez oh gross.

it is arctic blast here

oh my, it iz so cold.  I cant go on my walks becuz it is below zero temperature.  I tink that means it is negative outside.  all I know for sure is that is is positive inside, especially in frunt of this comfy fire!  ahhhhh.  I even has a bone to chew on!  my life of Percy is so so great!!!

oopsie

well, I did sumtink that made mommy a liddle bit upset.  I stold this ting she callz money and I teared it up-I even ate sum of it.  she said I ate about $1.98.  she even pried my mouth open to look inside, but I ate it down.  she gave me an angry scowly face. 

so then I taked her kichen towel and went to pout in my bed.

Have I ever showed you my parrot bestie?  her name is Tallulah and we are very interested in each udder.  I wished she would ride around on my shoulder but evryon sez oh no, Percy, she has a strong beak.  I kind of wish I had a beak too.  but then I don't tink I could bark bark bark or howl.  the only noise that comes out of Tallulahs beak is awful  shrieking.  it makes my ears hurt and then sumtimez I bark bark bark and howl.  I like my sounds a lot more than Tallulahs.  but she can wistle and I can not.  when all of my frinz are making our own loud sounds my momy sez it sounds like the monkey house at the zoo!  I tink dat is so funny.  I  like monkeys.

we taked out special tree down today and mommy sed it wont come back for a long time,  she sed I wuzzed such a very good boy cuz I never boddered it or went peepee on it at all.  she gived me a big hug and telled me she wuz so proud of me!!  I sure ruv it when mommy is proud--but it shure wasn't easy to leave that tree alone and not to pee peee on it.  I tinked it wuz fun taking the special tree down because I got to go inside this cool  boat ting with lots of brite, rustly paper.  it wuz like a Percy fort.

now I get it--a new year is a ting, not a person.. and it did come!  so now it is 2017 and I say

my mommy telled me that a new year is coming soon,  so I am watching out the frunt window for it to come.  I waited and waited, but I never saw that new year come at all.

I am starting to tink it is not coming...  I sed mommy, its not coming.  and she telled me oh yes it is

so I watched and watched and den I finally  jest falled all asleep.

I don't tink I has ever told you how much I ruv mittens, and gloves!  of all kinds and colors.  win my mommy wearz them I go all crazied up and tack her hands.  we play and play.  well, I getted my own wintertime pair in my last Bark Box.  I carry them all around and mommy lets me play tug with them!

then on my walk today, I digged a glove out of the snow!  I wanted to bring it home but mommy sez no no Percy, you already have some mittens at home to play with.  darn it all

so I leaved it behind in the snow.  I hope its owner finds it.  its cold outside.

I wuz minding my own bizness when I noticed a hippity right out my frunt door.  he wuz eating my mommys frunt yard.  oh I barked much.  then mommy let me out the door and I chased that rabbit far away.  bark bark bark

so last Wennsday  was sumtink callt the winter solstice.  at noon time mommy sed the sun was the furthest away from us that it ever iz, and that then it stands still--I dent knowed innyting cud stand still, specially me.  innyways we taked my pitcher at noontime cuz my shadow is the tallest it ever can be then.  lookit my shadow!  it is bigger than me.  whut a neato ting to do!

I learning to hunt so good

I am practicing to hunt hippities cuzzed that's whut I wuz breeded to do.  my mommy and me go everyday and I knowed jest whut to do now.  I sniff them bunnies out and they hippity hop away frum me so fast that I cant see where they go.  so thin I must use my nose and sniff them out of their hiding spots.  I git so cited that I bark bark bark.  mommy calls it giving voice.  and she yells tally HO!!  and I bark bark bark sum more.  here I am hunting them out of these sticky bushes.

lookit this next pitcher--all you can see is my white tail in the sticky bushes.  did you know that is why Basset Hounds have white tails?  so hunters can see us in brush!  you couldn't see me unless I has my white tail.

 do you see this snow coming down?  it wuz on yesterday, Christmas.  mommy wuz so happy she sez it was a winter wonderland.  do you remember that my name is Baywind Ghost Of Christmas Past?

yes evrybuddy there IS a Santy Paws!!!  you cannot believe whut happened to me Percy this morning--my phone ringed and it wuz Santy Paws calling me!!  I wuz at first a little wondering if it wuz really him, here is me wundering it.

then my mommy showed me who wuz calling--it wuz Santy Paws for sure alright.

and the best part wuz me talking to him!!  I quick got out my recorder and so I haz proof of my very special call!  he iz so real he even knowed that I am 1 yrs old now.  he duz see me when I'm sleeping and knows when I'm awake!  he even knows that I ruv sloppy joes!

my longest recall ever

lookit how fast I come back to my mommy win she calls me.  and I is so far away.  i haz to zoom so fast to git to her!  thin we can play and play.  and i also practice my trick mommy callz windshield wiper.  i roll back and forth like one.  i ruv this and i do it everyday at the park! 

we haz so much fun togedder!  and jack frost is not biting  me either.

i almost got bitten by the frost

this pitcher is frum a fun walk before the cold winter commed.  maybe the day win i saw the star in the sky. my mommy sez we cannot walk win it is only -3 outside like it has been.  she sez that jack frost might bite me.  oh, I dent tink i like jack frost.  so we stay inside and play togedder and learn new tricks!!  go away jack frostbite.

we were walking one day and suddenly there was a star in the sky!!  oh I tink it might be the star of Bethleham!  i know Christmas is coming.  but thin my mommy sez it is only airplane trails.  darn it.

talk to the hand

when my mommy wuz trying to take pitchers of holiday and me I kept not staying.  so mommy givved  me the stay hand.  but thin a pitcher gotted taken of me gitting the hand to talk to.  i tink it looks like a mommy stop sign.  so i did stop.  i always listen to the hand!!  and i taked gud pitchers!!!

i hate mommy leaving

when my mommy sez she is getting ready to leave I always git so sad.  I usually take down the kitchen towel so she will git sidetracked and chase me around for it and not really leave soon.... see me?  i is laying on the towel and trying to git her attention.  I saying looky mommy, I has sumping I not sposed to.  come and chase me to git it back...

it dusnt always work often.  so then I go and git in her rocking chair where we rock togedder.

 I try to give her needy face.  but it dusnt work often either.  and she still haz to go.

but thin I go in my kennel den with a treat and I jest wait til she comes back. 

she always duz come back and she opens my kennel den door and sez hi liddle boy!  and we hug.
