its finally winter time!

Mudder told me that tomorrow is the first day of spring.  how can that be when yesterday was the first day of winter?  it makes my head hurt to think about that.  hmmmmm

but my head got all better so me and grouchy pants ASA played togedder.  I gave him the sneak attack while he wuz smiling for a pitcher.

he sat down in the snow next to Mudder and now he has snow butt!  I tinked it wuzzed funny

thin I spied with my own eyes-----ICICLES!!!!  do you remember I just ate my last one a few days ago?  

we collected a batch of them for me to eat after our walks

I wunted one now, mudder gave me several.  nom nom, nothing better than fresh icicles-except maybe PORK RINDS !!  hey, pork rind flavored icicles wud be a grate idea...

evin grouchy pants had fun in the snow today.  the only bad part about this much snow is that I wont git to go on a walk today.  but we will do sumptink fun like sum training indoors.  please don't go away tomorrow winter...I like you and whut you bring.

my mudders lap is my favrit sleeping place in the mornings.  Espeshally whin it is cold outside.

Basset fest

Today was full og Basset Hounds for me.  First I went to obedience class with my frind Almondine (who isn't rilly my frind, becuz she wunts to bite me all the time.)  me and mudder had a gud class and I em almost reddy for the show coming up in 3 weeks!  it is not very stressful for me....

thin on the way hme, we saw rudy and boomer out on a walk so we pulled over to say hello.

one we got home there wuz someome waiting for us named screamer I think, or maybe Kramer

we got to play a bit togedder, but thin he started gitting a little mean, so mudder sed he had to go home.

 do you see him biting out?  I wuz saying, yikes, not so ruff mister.  I humped him once.

this afternoon I had a nice nap.  it wuz a nice day with lots of activities.  

WATER!!

on our hike today me and mudder kept hearing someone yelling "WATER  WATER"!  I knowed I was thirsty but we dent think anyone was going to bring me a drink.  then we saw this scene.

 there were fire ingines and fire guys spraying all kinds of water in to the field.  we did not see iny fire or smell iny smoke, so we decided to go around and take a look frum the other side of the field.

we still dent see iny fire, so we went on with our hike.  We crossed a liddle creek and followed the path up the hill.  mudder sed "keep yer eyes peeled Percy, we might see a moose!"

we did not see a Moose, but we did find sum rilly cool climbing spots.  

I climbed on this rock and was going to smile, but I heared sumptink living under the rock and it scairt me.  I think maybe it was a rat.

then I smelled sumptink rilly yummy, and I finded this!  mudder sed it was called a honeycomb and that it is made by bees!  I wanted to bring it home with us but mudder sed "No."

I left it behind and took a pooper instead.  I kicked it all around when I was finished.  jest becuz

it was such a nice springtime day!  we evin finded a beavers dam. there is a creek in there.

my favrit ting is to look around for wildlife.  I dent see iny today tho.

on our way out we saw a whole bunch of water on the path.  mudder sed "oh gosh, Percy look what a mess those fire guys made!"  

thank goodness there was not a real fire.

lookit whut I did today in Agility class!  I em so smarty and mudder is so proud!  I luv Agility so much.  I wish I could do it everyday.

we need some snow

a couple of months ago we had a lot of icicles hanging.  I ruv to eat them and mudder had a grate idea.  she picked a bunch of them and put them in the freezer for me.  after our walks when I em so hot and thirsty my favrit treat is an icicle!  but today I ate my last icicle...  it wuz jest a small piece, but it was so gud.

come on mudder nature, bring us some freezing weather and snow and icicles!

we went on a short easy hike today of about 4 miles on a dirt path.  I dent find inny cool tings, but I did take a dirt bath.

oh and I met a dog named Taco.

paradise cove

yesterday on our way home frum the land we decided to stop and see Paradise Cove. it wuz so cool.

                                      we taked a hike down a trail and over a cupple of creeks.

                                                   thin we had to climb up and over sum rocky areas to git to the cove.

  a lot of humans jump frum the top in to the wadder.  yipes.

it is only 10 feet deep in there.

we started to hike back out and mudder sed "hold on Percy, I want to go luk over the edge"

I holded on.

but mudder wuzzed gone forever and I wined and wined and barked. mudder come back.

she commed back and sed, wow, it is a long way down.

on the way out I went over sum more rocks over the creek.

I stopped to have a liddle drink of ice cold rocky mountain spring wadder.  nom nom nom

I wunted to go in for a quick swim, but mudder sed "no no Percy, that wadder is freezing cold"

thin I saw sum cows, and all of this is why I ruv living in Colorado.

bye bye cove, bye bye cows.  my life is preddy grate, don't you think so too?

a day at the land

we taked a nice trip to Guffey today to hang a new wildlife camera in the woods. it will take surprise pitchers of all of the wildlife while they are minding their own bizness.  deers, elks, rabbits, birds, bears, mountain lions and mudder sed evin bigfeet.  I finded a lot of cool tings on our hike up the mountain.  here are sum.

mudder telled me it is callt scat. I tinked that wuzzed whut you yell at a cat to make it go away from you.  innyway, here it is.  lots of it.  do you notice my nose in the pitcher?  it likes to smell scat.

a birds used up nest.  I went peepee on it.

now it can never be used agin.

some deer or elks fur.  do you see my big snout in the corner of the pitcher?

at furst we thought the fur   wuzzed porcupine quills.  

I ate it.

I chewed it all up.

A COUPLE OF COOL BONES TO CHEW!!  I picked them up and started to run all proud.

mudder sed  "oh Percy did you find sum antlers?"  

then she saw whut it rilly wuzzed and screamed out "oh hell no, Percy"

me and mudder were going to take a selfie when I decided to eat mudders ponytail instead.

this is the salt and mineral block that we put in camera range to chum in the wild creatures.

I gave it a lick.  it wuzzed preddy gud. 

thin I went and standed in the camera range to see if I wud trip the motion sensor-I did! thin mudder sed, "Percy, get out of the field of view, you are wasting pitchers".  do you see the salt blocks?

 we finded that nature built a pitcher frame-so we sed cheese.
